چکیده

Predicting blood concentration levels of pharmaceutical agents in human subjects can be made difficult by missing data and variability within and between human subjects. Biometricians use a variety of software tools to analyze pharmacokinetic information in order to conduct research about a pharmaceutical agent. This paper is the comparison between using a feedforward backpropagation neural network to predict blood serum concentration levels of the drug tobramycin in pediatric cystic fibrosis and hemotologic–oncologic disorder patients with the most commonly used software for analysis of pharmacokinetics, NONMEM. Mean squared standard error is used to establish the comparability of the two estimation methods. The motivation for this research is the desire to provide clinicians and pharmaceutical researchers a cost effective, user friendly, and timely analysis tool for effectively predicting blood concentration ranges in human subjects. q 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.

Application of neural networks to population pharmacokinetic data analysis.

This research examined the applicability of using a neural network approach to analyze population pharmacokinetic data. Such data were collected retrospectively from pediatric patients who had received tobramycin for the treatment of bacterial infection. The information collected included patient-related demographic variables (age, weight, gender, and other underlying illness), the individual's...

Predicting peak particle velocity by artificial neural networks and multivariate regression analysis - Sarcheshmeh copper mine, Kerman, Iran

Ground vibrations caused by blasting are undesirable results in the mining industry and can cause serious damage to the nearby buildings and facilities; therefore, controlling such vibrations has an important role in reducing the environmental damaging effects. Controlling vibration caused by blasting can be achieved once peak particle velocity (PPV) is predicted. In this paper, the values of P...

Florfenicol pharmacokinetics following intravenous and oral administrations and its elimination after oral and bath administrations in common carp (Cyprinus carpio)

The aim of this study was to evaluate pharmacokinetic profiles of florfenicol after a single dose of intravenous (5.00 mg kg-1 body weight) and oral (40.00 mg kg-1 body weight) administrations in common carp (Cyprinus carpio). The residue depletion of florfenicol was also investigated after oral administration (10.00 mg kg-1 body weight) and bath treatm...

مروری بر فارماکوکنتیک و فارماکودینامیک وریکونازول

Voriconazole is an antifungal triazole, approved for management of invasive fungal diseases in patients. It is absorbed during two hours and its serum levels will be above 90%, based on the underlying factors, when the drug is administered orally. Voriconazole shows a propotional increase in an area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC), with increasing dose. Plasma protein binding of...

Pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic approach to assess irrelevant plasma or urine drug concentrations in postcompetition samples for drug control in the horse.

The current performance of analytical techniques used for drug control in horses lead the Regulatory Authorities to decide whether trace levels of drugs legitimately used for therapeutic medication should or should not be reported. Here, we propose a well-ordered and nonexperimental pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic approach for the determination of irrelevant drug plasma (IPC) and urine concentr...
